What to Expect...

You've gotten this far. Now what?

First off, Welcome.

For new clients:

We start with an initial consultation. If you'd like to schedule one, the quickest and most efficient way is to click on the "Book a Session" button and continue reading below. You can also call the office line directly at 727-222-3542. If I am unable to answer the phone, please leave a message and I will get back in touch with you (I typically return calls in a punctual fashion, but I apologize in advance if it takes me a few days). Feel free to also use the contact form on the Contact page.

Begin by selecting the "Book a Session" button. You will be directed to the scheduling page. From there click the green "I'm a New Client" button.

  1. Select "Initial Consultation" → Select either "Video Office" or Phone → Chose a day and time that works well for you

  2. Intake Questions: These questions are designed to be brief and efficient and are a good way to make our initial consultation call as productive as possible. However, these questions are not required to complete. Feel free to scroll down and select the "Next" button at any time.

  3. On the final page, please enter your contact information so that we can get in touch and press "Request Appointment." *The calendar updates in real time with accurate availability, I will receive your appointment request notification and will confirm it. However, if the selected time does not work, you will receive a follow up email with other available options to choose from.

  4. As soon as I confirm our appointment time, you will receive a confirmation email as well as access to your client portal where there may be a few things to review before our first meeting.

  5. Once all of that is taken care of, we meet (either through video or phone) for the initial consultation on the confirmed day and time and go from there!

the Initial Consultation; What is it?

It's a brief, 100% no charge 15-minute meeting that gives us an opportunity to feel out the situation.

The therapeutic space and relationship can be a deeply human space, therefore it's important to work with somebody you feel comfortable with and that you believe will be able help you reach your goals. The initial consultation is useful not only for the therapist to begin to gather some information from the client, but also for the prospective client to get a feel for whether this particular therapist could be a good fit for them as well. There are never any hard feelings if it's not a good match and I would be happy to help with a referral.

Initial Consultation, Discussion/What do we Talk About?

The 15 minutes of the initial consultation can go by quickly. It can be helpful for you to have any questions you may for me prepared in advance. I will also look forward to hearing more about your past experiences with talk therapy, your goals and expectations, and what has prompted you to engage with talk therapy at this time. It's all good if we don't get a chance to touch on all of it. The most important part is that we get a feel for how the partnership will go.

In the last few minutes of the initial consultation we will take a look at the calendar to determine our first full meeting. At the same time, if you'd like to take some time before scheduling your first full 50-minute meeting, you can always come back to the website and select the "Book a Session" button as an Existing Client. You will be sent a link to your email that will bring you to the calendar where you will be able to view all available time slots and select one that works best for you.

Before the First Meeting

Before our first meeting you will receive an email both confirming the appointment day/time as well as to deliver a few documents for you to review and fill out. These documents will include the Practice Policies, Credit Card Authorization, and Informed Consent. After reviewing and completing these documents, we will be ready for our first meeting.
